Friday Faves 4.19 – The Fitnessista

Hello friends! Happy Friday! How was the week? What are you doing this weekend? It will be wild but fun here. We have a military retirement party, a school event, a birthday party, a block party, and it’s my brother’s birthday. Let all the spring fun come! I’ve also been working hard this week on an exciting opportunity through Equivida. I am very excited and honored to be included, and will share the details when I can 🙂

Let me know what you’re up to and what’s happening this spring. I love catching up with you and hearing about your life!

For now, it’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party. This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and from around the web. I also love hearing about your favorites, so shout out something you like in the comments section below.

Friday 4/19 Favorites

We had the most amazing date night at Le Rendezvous last weekend. It’s a Tucson classic and many people have raved about it, so we finally tried it. All was a dream.

We shared scallops as an appetizer, enjoyed the wine, the beef tenderloin for two (with perfect sautéed vegetables and a small pile of scalloped potatoes that I wanted to live on), and the Grand Marnier soufflé. Hmm. We will definitely come back with the girls, especially since they have snails; your all-time favorite appetizer.

I realized I had never posted before and after photos of our big floor project. They replaced our carpet upstairs with laminate, and also redid our bedroom and office since they used to be hardwood. We just wanted everything to match and we wanted a neutral brown that was classic.

I’m so happy with how it turned out!

We also replaced the railing on our stairs.

This is what it looked like before:

with the safety railing while they redid the railing:

and the after:

A million times better.

We never intended to stay here forever, but we keep making updates to the house (like the pool!) that make us want to stay longer. Also, with the current market we don’t plan to go anywhere.

The girls and I saw Phil Wickham in concert last night! He had been looking forward to it (the girls were neutral about it lol) for quite some time. We all loved it and were singing and dancing the whole time. He is incredibly talented and I also loved the overall message of the show. It was a festival with a great positive atmosphere for all of us.

P also received his First Communion last weekend. We celebrated mass with the family and had an epic brunch at Ventana.

Five stimulants.

Fitness, health and good nutrition:

Still sailing along with him CBO protocol. I’m finally getting close to the end and it’s been nice to implement more foods into the rotation. Protocols are 20% off right now, including My favorite detox. You can also accumulate the code FITNESSISTA10 for many of the EquiLife products with this link.

Healthy Trader Joe’s shopping list.

Fashion + beauty:

I got this dress from Dillard’s. and obsessed with it. (I size down to XS because I read in the reviews that it runs large.)

It is similar to a La Vie Style House Tunic at a fraction of the price. I have hot pink, but now I want the black.

On a totally different note, you may have noticed that the Beautycounter site has been disabled as of today.

Here is a copy of the email I sent to my clients this morning:

In 2021, the company was sold to a private equity firm, The Carlyle Group. After a few years of discovering a discrepancy in the true vision of the incredible company, founder and CEO Gregg Renfrew (along with other like-minded investors) is buying it back.

This is great news for you, me, and Beautycounter (and its mission) as a whole! I have complete confidence in Gregg as a leader.

The not-so-good thing about all of this is that there will be a bit of downtime during the transition.

Starting today, the Beautycounter website will be DOWN and will not be available to shop again until Wednesday, May 1st.

There are many rumors that the company will close, but Gregg has assured us that everything will be back to normal (products, ordering process, website, product credit, everything!) once the sale is completed on May 1st. Everything should look and feel the same at that moment.

I hear there are some good things planned starting in May, including some new product launches this summer, so stay tuned!

Happy friday friends! Have a wonderful weekend and thank you very much for stopping by the blog today.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
